Anita Hill at ASU
February 05, 2018 |
We hope everyone had a great winter break! BLSA is excited to announce that we will be hosting Anita Hill for a meet and greet on Monday, February 5, 2018. Professor Hill will be in Phoenix to deliver the 2018 John P. Frank Lecture at the Tempe campus, and she has been kind enough to offer her time to meet with our BLSA chapter at lunch. Here is a short biography on Professor Hill:
Anita F. Hill is currently a University Professor at Brandeis University where she teaches courses on gender, race, social policy and legal history. She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and Yale Law School. After working for several years in public service, Professor Hill was launched into the public spotlight after she testified before Congress during confirmation hearings for Clarence Thomas, then a United States Supreme Court nominee. She testified that Justice Thomas sexually harassed her while she worked with him at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Education. These events were recounted in HBO's 2016 film Confirmation. Professor Hill has gone on to become an esteemed educator, author and public speaker who frequently speaks on women's rights issues.
